Your guide to real nappies
As part of our Recycling initiative, Recycle for Cheshire is encouraging parents, grandparents and carers to use reusable instead of disposable nappies for their children.
Modern reusable nappies are shaped, stylish and easy to fasten; no more safety pins; they are now fastened with Velcro, poppers or Nappi Nippas.
They are available in a range of colours and fabrics including organic cotton, fleece and bamboo!
Reusable nappies are no longer about soaking and boiling or hours of folding and laundry. There is a nappy style to suit many modern lifestyles and babies; a real alternative to disposables.
Babies get through about 5000 disposable nappies in their first two to two and half years compared to 25-30 reusable nappies. These nappies take up space in your bin and end up at landfill sites.
Cheshire's babies have never looked so good, no longer just the choice of the green conscious there are also savings to be made to your pockets! Real Nappies can save parents an average of £500.
More than 36 million nappies end up in landfill sites in Cheshire every year!
To give Cheshire parents the opportunity to try reusable nappies, we are able to offer either:
- 1 Month's Free Nappy Laundering service, (worth £45)or
- Up to £25 Cashback on reusable nappy purchases (half of the amount spent, up to a maximum of £25)
